GERARD WAY: LEGACY AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

To this day, people still look up to and admire Gerard Way, especially his time and effort in his musical career. My Chemical Romance, to many teens and young adults alike, have brought comfort, joy, inspiration, and understanding. Gerard Way and the influence he brought in the 2000s rock scene has changed many perspectives. From his start with My Chemical Romance's album "I Brought You my Bullets" to his revival of the band, Way has not only learned from himself, but from his fans. Creativity and expression can connect everybody together, no matter how "weird" one may seem.

The Butterfly Affect in MCR

To put it incredibly simply, the vampiric touch of My Chemical Romance's first two albums, "Bullets" and "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" had inspired Stephanie Meyer to write Twilight. Creativity and inspiration lived on, and the young adult novel inspired E. L. James to write his own novel.

Whether people find it to make sense or not, some argue that catastrophic events can trigger creative outbursts of many perspectives. Gerard Way has prooven this by taking tragedy, and making art that will last forever.


Awards

The Umbrella Academy, a comic series written by Gerard Way, made into a Netflix series in 2019, had won an Eisner Award-winning comic.
