Born April 9th, 1977, Gerard Way grew up in Belleville, New Jersey. He had always had love for art in any shape and form. He had shared stories of him and his brother, Michael Way, listening to music together. After graduating, Way had went to the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
At first, Gerard Way worked at a Cartoon Network animation studio. He had always had a knack for all types of art, expressing himself in multiple ways.
Soon, in Newark, New Jersey, Gerard Way witnessed the tragic events of Septemer 11, 2001. This had changed his world view, and he was motivated to be and do better in life. He wanted to change something in the world, although it may be small
